Our lives are lived in seasons. Year after year, we change, we evolve and we grow. Haven’t you noticed that not all seasons are the same? Winter one year could be a lot cooler than the year previous, more sunshine this summer than the last… The important part is to understand that the world is in need of what we have at the moment, and our lives mimic this pattern.
When I applied for my Hot Mama franchise Gia was 2 months old. My maternity leave was still 10 months away from being over but in this season of my life, I needed to stay home with her. I knew that having this franchise, inspiring and spreading the passion I have for health and fitness would benefit SO MANY (including myself). No daycare hunt. Just myself, Gia and whoever else wanted to join us on this amazing journey! When Gia was 4 months old, the papers were signed and we were off on our new adventure!
Now if you have been a part of our Hot Mama community since the beginning you may be familiar with this season… if not, read on.
June 1st 2015 was our VERY FIRST CLASS, launch day was here! Classes were full! (3 classes were full, to be exact). I had my 9-month-old, my mom (just in case I needed an SOS with Gia), paperwork and we were ready to rock. Our 3 classes a week turned into 4,5,6,7,8. Our community grew like no other and this was the best season of them all! SO many beautiful faces remain since that very first class. Some come and go but the most important part is that we touch the lives of EVERY. SINGLE. MAMA who comes to class (well I sure hope we do, that’s my mission).
We welcome everyone and their Mini(s) with open arms. No judgment, no nothing. Come as you are. We want to support your fitness journey, get you out of your funk, allow you and your kids to socialize… all while being HEALTHY. Hot Mama was becoming a movement. Now we are onto WORLD DOMINATION!
Fast forward to a new season (1.5 years to be exact). Our family is growing and on Gia’s 2nd birthday we found out Giordano baby #2 was on their way! Add my dental assisting career into the mix, running Hot Mama, teaching classes and growing a human, mothering and wife-ing, things were getting pretty crazy around here. The strong community of Mamas and support kept me strong, dedicated and motivated. Without them, I do not know what would have been! Currently, 28 weeks pregnant and 5,789 conversations with my husband later, our seasons have now shifted again.
We have decided as a family that I will be stepping down as your Main Mama in Sherwood Park and passing the torch to someone new. Someone who can put their whole heart into you Mamas, the programs and the classes. I know there are SO MANY OF YOU reading this that are capable. When something becomes your own it takes on a whole new meaning, it’s an incredible life change. Making our decision to sell the franchise did not come overnight. Um no. Remember those thousands of conversations I had mentioned previously? But as our season will soon again change in May, I am needing the year off with my babies. To have a true maternity leave. To be true to myself, take care of myself and my family and become a Hot Mama just like you. (You didn’t think I was GOING ANYWHERE DID YOU?). With such a successful and amazing franchise & community there is no way a “pause” button is anywhere in sight. And how true to myself am I being if I am pushing away the voice in my heart? I’ve cried, I’ve had so many sleepless nights about this. But in the end…. It is going to be O.K

Now don’t panic! Don’t cry, don’t worry! The Sherwood Park franchise is not going to dissolve and disappear! My heart is here, my passion has not fizzled and everything will go on as normal until we find the right soul to take over. SO get your buns to class, commit to YOU, OWN IT and show this preggo gal what you’ve got!
Now, I know you are reading this and I can GUARANTEE these are a few things you are thinking:
* I have ALWAYS wanted to apply for a franchise!*
* What’s the benefit of purchasing the franchise vs. doing my own thing?
* I would LOVE to bring my kids with me (or send them to school if they are older) be a role model, stay at home and earn a great income!*
* Could I even do this?
* OMG I am freaking out. (This is normal… and will continue to be. This is a good business feeling).
